The NXR750 was a factory rally racer built by HRC for the Paris-Dakar, not a road bike. Its liquid-cooled V-twin, huge long-range tanks and long-travel suspension were updated every year from the 1986 NT5A to the 1989 NT5D, gaining a little power along the way. It won its debut Dakar with Cyril Neveu in 1986, the first liquid-cooled winner of the event, and went on to take four straight victories through 1989, inspiring Honda's Africa Twin road bikes.
